I recently visited Austin after having been gone for some years. I was at a Mexican restaurant on South 1st and was waiting in line at the men’s room. A woman walked to the head of the line, and the man in front of me waved her in. When did the men’s rooms in Austin become Unisex??? Is that a rule now? I’ve been gone too long.
Unisex? That’s a long leap… Might it not have been a compassionate Austin gentleman’s kindness toward a woman driven to near madness by a (not unusual) 15 minute wait in a line outside the woman’s toilet?
