Satirist Krassner, himself a legendary figure from the Sixties, was on a bill with the Grateful Dead in Pittsburgh — doing a stand-up routine — when he ran into Dead sound man Owsley “Bear” Stanley — whose Sixties LSD would become a thing of legend. Let’s just say that Paul’s encounter with Owsley — who died March 13 in an automobile accident — served to enhance his Pittsburgh experience.
